The Opportunity

Sime Motors, a division of Sime Darby Transport (NZ) Ltd, is seeking an experienced Heavy Automotive Fitter to join our dynamic team based in Auckland's Wiri workshop. This role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of equipment including concrete mixers, tail lifts, hook loaders, and specialist hydraulic machinery. No two days are alike as you'll be involved in various tasks that require precision and expertise.

What You'll Do

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy automotive equipment
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues to ensure optimal performance of vehicles
• Work with a team to maintain high standards of safety and quality in the workshop environment
• Utilize specialized tools and machinery to complete tasks efficiently
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a skilled Heavy Automotive Fitter with at least 3 years of experience in the field. You should have a solid understanding of heavy machinery systems and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. A trade qualification or relevant experience is essential, along with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
