ARROWHEAD HOUSING seeks a full-time Maintenance Technician to keep our San Jose property in excellent working order. You'll handle day-to-day repairs, preventive maintenance, and unit turnover while delivering reliable, professional service to our residents.
About the Role
As Maintenance Technician at ARROWHEAD HOUSING in San Jose, California, you'll own the hands-on upkeep of our residential community. This is a full-time position where you'll work independently and as part of a small team to address maintenance requests, resolve operational issues, and ensure all systems and grounds meet our standards. Occasional travel to support other ARROWHEAD HOUSING properties may be required.
What You'll Do
- Respond to and complete work orders promptly, documenting all maintenance activities
- Perform unit turnovers between residents—cleaning, repairs, and preparing units for move-in
- Maintain grounds and common areas, including landscaping, trash management, and exterior upkeep
- Inspect systems, fixtures, and equipment; identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
- Perform preventive maintenance to extend asset lifespan and prevent emergency repairs
- Maintain a clean, organized maintenance space and tool inventory
- Communicate effectively with residents, management, and contractors
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, property maintenance worker, or similar role
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systems
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools and follow safety protocols
- Strong organizational and time-management skills—you'll juggle multiple tasks and priorities
- Dependable, professional attitude with genuine care for property quality and resident satisfaction
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (required for occasional travel between properties)
- Flexibility and willingness to learn new systems and expand your skill set
