VoltaGrid is seeking a Generator Technician to join its team in Atlanta, Fulton County.
About the Role
As a Generator Technician, you will work primarily in the field to keep natural gas‑powered generators operating safely and efficiently. This position reports to the Regional Maintenance Manager and supports VoltaGrid’s commitment to reliable temporary power solutions.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in natural gas generators and perform necessary repairs
- Verify and adjust circuit breaker settings according to job specifications and manufacturer guidelines
- Conduct routine preventive inspections, identify wear or potential faults, and recommend corrective actions
- Maintain accurate service records, parts usage logs, and completion reports for each work order
- Ensure all work adheres to safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures and OSHA regulations
- Collaborate with dispatch and maintenance leadership to prioritize tasks and minimize downtime
- Operate service vehicles safely and keep equipment, tools, and inventory organized
What We're Looking For
- Hands‑on experience troubleshooting and repairing natural gas or diesel generator sets
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, including breaker adjustment and control panel wiring
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, manuals, and wiring diagrams
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency using hand and power tools
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for travel to various job sites
- Effective communication skills and a customer‑focused mindset when interacting with site personnel
- Commitment to workplace safety and willingness to participate in ongoing training
- Basic computer proficiency for entering service data and updating work orders
