Gatehouse/Front Desk Security Officer

Life Care Services is hiring a Gatehouse/Front Desk Security Officer for our Lincolnshire, Lake County community. This part-time evening position is your opportunity to be the trusted first point of contact, balancing security vigilance with genuine hospitality.

About the Role

You'll manage gatehouse and front desk operations during high-value evening hours (Friday through Sunday, 2:45 PM–10:45 PM, 22.5 hours per week). Your role combines access control oversight with the interpersonal touch that makes residents and guests feel secure and welcome. You'll be the eyes and ears of our security operation during a critical shift window.

What You'll Do

• Monitor and control all entry and exit points at the gatehouse and front desk
• Verify visitor credentials and maintain detailed access logs
• Enforce security protocols while maintaining a professional, welcoming demeanor
• Observe grounds and facilities for unusual activity or safety concerns
• Assist residents and visitors with directions and facility information
• Document incidents, anomalies, and daily activities in required reports
• Coordinate with management and fellow security staff on access and safety matters

What We're Looking For

• Prior experience in security, facility access control, or guest services
• Excellent verbal communication and a professional manner with all visitors
• Sharp attention to detail and strict adherence to security procedures
• Reliable availability for Friday–Sunday evening shifts
• Clean background check and valid form of identification
• Ability to stay alert and engaged during evening work hours

Compensation and Details

This non-exempt, part-time position offers $18.00 per hour plus a $0.25 per hour shift differential.
