WoodJobs is recruiting an experienced Finishing Manager to oversee surface finishing operations for a recognized custom commercial casework and furniture manufacturer based in Henry County, Tennessee. You'll lead a finishing department while maintaining hands-on expertise, ensuring exceptional craftsmanship and safe operations.
About the Role
This position combines direct finishing expertise with supervisory responsibility. You'll manage the finishing department's daily operations, coordinate workflow between team members, and uphold rigorous standards for every piece of custom cabinetry and millwork that ships.
What You'll Do
- Lead finishing department operations and direct the work of finishing technicians
- Oversee all staining, sealing, and painting operations for custom casework pieces
- Inspect finished products for quality and address any surface defects
- Establish and enforce safety standards and best practices in the finishing environment
- Train team members on finishing techniques, material handling, and safety protocols
- Coordinate project scheduling and timelines with production and sales teams
- Manage inventory of finishing materials and supplies
- Troubleshoot finishing challenges and implement solutions to maintain output quality
What We're Looking For
- Several years of hands-on experience in furniture or commercial casework finishing
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a finishing or manufacturing environment
- Strong practical knowledge of stains, sealers, paints, and application techniques
- Ability to read and interpret project specifications and blueprints

- Dependable, detail-oriented professional with strong work ethic
Compensation & Position Details
Full-time position. Starting salary range: $65,000–$75,000 annually, based in Henry County, Tennessee.
