You will be embedded at a growing insurance compliance platform that helps businesses track and manage certificates of insurance — ensuring that vendors, subcontractors, and partners carry the right coverage. Clients span industries like construction, property management, and enterprise services.

The company is undergoing a major transformation: moving from a services-based model to a fully automated software platform, powered by AI and LLMs. This is a pivotal moment to join — the team is rebuilding the product from the ground up with a modern stack, and there is high ownership and real architectural influence available.

The engineering team is cross-functional, collaborative, and predominantly Brazilian. Daily standups happen during Brazilian midday. The culture values autonomy, pair programming, deep work, and strong interpersonal communication.

🖼️ About The Role

As Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will provide strategic technical leadership across a modern TypeScript + React + Python + FastAPI codebase. You will work closely with product managers and engineers to architect, plan, and develop robust full stack solutions.

This is a high-ownership role. You will help define how the product evolves, guide technology decisions, mentor a team, and ensure the team ships with quality and speed. You’ll be embedded in the client’s cross-functional product team (~10 engineers) while being part of Sierra Studio’s talent network.

🔨 What You’ll Do

– Lead end-to-end development – Oversee the full product lifecycle from initial idea to launch, ensuring cohesion across backend and frontend.

– Craft high-quality code – Produce clear, efficient code; actively participate in code reviews; champion technical excellence.

– Write tech specs – Translate business needs into technically robust, creative solutions.

– Engage with stakeholders – Collaborate closely with product owners and leadership, turning their vision into technical reality.

– Document thoroughly – Create comprehensive technical documentation to simplify onboarding and maintain institutional knowledge.

– Refine best practices – Proactively identify and implement improvements in engineering workflows and processes.

– Manage and mentor engineers – Provide technical guidance, coaching, and career development. Advocate for your team’s needs.

– Drive engineering planning – Lead sprint planning, effort estimation, capacity planning, and release management.

– Architect and evolve the stack – Guide technology decisions and stack improvements; anticipate and address scaling challenges.

🔎 What We’re Looking For

– 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role

– Frontend: TypeScript, React

– Backend: Python, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy

– Cloud: Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

– CI/CD: GitHub Actions or equivalent tooling

– Strong written and verbal communication in English

– Growth mindset — comfortable picking up new frameworks and technologies quickly

Bonus skills:

– Experience with document processing and/or OCR tools

– Experience with message queue systems (Kafka, Google Pub/Sub)

– Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Cursor, Claude Code)

– Experience building products using Generative AI / LLMs
