You will be a central point of contact linking loads, drivers, and customers, making sure schedules hold, paperwork is accurate, and issues are resolved quickly. Whether you are new to freight or already know the lanes, you will work as part of a focused local team that values reliability, organization, and strong follow-through on every shipment.

Core Duties

• Coordinate daily freight moves by matching available capacity with open loads and keeping all parties updated.
• Communicate clearly with drivers, carriers, brokers, and customers about pickup windows, delivery times, and status changes.
• Track shipments, document milestones, and escalate delays or exceptions before they affect the customer.
• Prepare and maintain dispatch records, bills of lading details, rate confirmations, and related files for audit readiness.
• Support rate discussions and load planning within company guidelines so capacity is used effectively.
• Monitor compliance with company procedures and applicable transportation rules while handling night-of or day-of problem solving.
• Use dispatch, TMS, or related software tools to update boards, notes, and reports in real time.
• Assist teammates during high-volume periods so the Bangor, Maine operation stays on schedule.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills for constant contact with drivers and customers.
• Solid organization and the ability to juggle multiple loads, calls, and deadlines without losing detail.
• Comfort with computers, email, spreadsheets, and learning dispatch or transportation management systems.
• Calm, practical problem solving when weather, traffic, or equipment issues require a new plan.
• Dependability, professional phone presence, and a team-first mindset for shift coverage and handoffs.
• Entry-level applicants ready to learn freight dispatch fundamentals are encouraged to apply; prior dispatch, customer service, logistics, or transportation experience is a plus for experienced candidates.
• Ability to work on site in Bangor, Maine as a full-time member of the American Logistics Authority dispatch team.
