Family Services Specialist

Addus HomeCare is hiring a full-time Family Services Specialist in Scott Air Force Base, Saint Clair County. In this role, you'll deliver direct support services to families navigating crisis situations, helping them meet their Department of Children and Family Services goals and build the stability and independence they need for long-term success.

About the Role

As a Family Services Specialist with Addus HomeCare, you'll provide comprehensive services within our DCFS-contracted programs, including Family Habilitation, Visitation, and Housing support. You'll work hands-on with families to help them comply with court-ordered goals, strengthen family connections, and access the resources and skills they need during difficult transitions.

What You'll Do

• Deliver direct support across Family Habilitation, Visitation, and Housing programs for DCFS-involved families
• Conduct assessments and develop individualized service plans tailored to each family's needs
• Conduct regular home and community visits to provide support, skill-building, and progress monitoring
• Help families meet specific goals outlined in their Department of Children and Family Services case plans
• Collaborate with DCFS caseworkers, courts, and community partners to coordinate services
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all services and outcomes
• Connect families with additional resources, counseling, housing assistance, and social services
• Respond to family crises with empathy and professional judgment

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, or related field is preferred
• Experience in social services, family support, case management, or related fields
• Knowledge of child welfare, DCFS programs, and court-ordered services
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to listen actively
• Demonstrated ability to work with families experiencing crisis in a non-judgmental, empathetic manner
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (required for home-based services)
• Flexibility to work outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
• Strong commitment to client confidentiality and professional boundaries
