The Electro-Mechanical Technician 2 role at KION in Minden, NV offers a full‑time opportunity to support material handling equipment through troubleshooting and preventive maintenance. Working on a Saturday‑to‑Tuesday shift, you’ll help ensure the reliability of KION‑installed systems while gaining hands‑on experience with electro‑mechanical technology.

About the Role

This position focuses on keeping critical warehouse and logistics equipment operating at peak performance. You will perform routine inspections, diagnose issues, and carry out repairs under the guidance of senior technicians, contributing to minimal downtime and smooth facility operations.

What You'll Do

• Conduct day‑to‑day troubleshooting of electro‑mechanical systems on forklifts, conveyors, and related material handling gear
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks according to established schedules and checklists
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment at the Minden, NV site
• Maintain accurate records of service activities, parts used, and time spent on each job
• Respond to unexpected equipment failures, often outside regular hours, with overtime and occasional weekend work as needed
• Follow all safety protocols and participate in continuous improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Hands‑on experience with electro‑mechanical systems, including motors, drives, sensors, and basic PLC concepts
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a methodical approach to diagnosing faults
• Physical capability to lift equipment, maneuver tools, and work in varied indoor environments
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and documenting work
