ENFRA is seeking a Full-Time Electrical Engineer PE I to join its team in Hoover, Jefferson County, where you will contribute to the design and delivery of reliable energy infrastructure solutions.
About the Role
As an Electrical Engineer PE I, you will support senior engineers in planning, analyzing, and documenting electrical systems for utility and commercial projects. Your work will help ensure compliance with industry codes and standards while advancing ENFRA’s mission to modernize the power grid.
What You'll Do
- Prepare single‑line diagrams, load calculations, and short‑circuit studies using industry‑standard software.
- Assist in the development of construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for distribution and substation projects.
- Perform field visits to verify existing conditions and gather data for design updates.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, project managers, and client stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records of design changes, approvals, and project milestones.
- Stay current with NEC, IEEE, and local jurisdictional requirements and apply them to daily tasks.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in the state of Alabama.
- Fundamental knowledge of power system analysis, protective relaying, and voltage drop calculations.
- Proficiency with tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or similar platforms.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to document technical work clearly.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous learning in a fast‑paced environment.
