About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead leisure, culture, sport, and library services in Dundee. As Director of Leisure and Culture for Dundee City Council and Managing Director of Leisure and Culture Dundee, you will drive innovation and deliver inclusive, high-quality services that enrich lives across the city.

• Lead and develop a team to enhance community engagement and service delivery
• Innovate and implement strategies to support cultural and leisure activities in the city
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international standards and regulations
• Promote inclusivity and accessibility across all services provided

Your Responsibilities

The role involves:

• Strategically planning and delivering high-quality leisure, culture, sport, and library services that meet the needs of the community
• Developing partnerships with local organizations to enhance service delivery and community engagement
• Managing budgets and resources effectively to ensure efficient operations
• Representing the council in external forums and collaborations to promote the city’s cultural and leisure offerings

Requirements

To be successful, you must:

• Hold a relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in a related field
• Have extensive leadership experience in managing large-scale public services
• Demonstrate strong strategic planning and implementation skills
• Be committed to promoting inclusivity and accessibility in all areas of work
• Show a track record of innovation and delivering high-quality services
• Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
