ICON is looking for a Director of Information Technology and Systems to build and own a unified technology strategy that drives critical business outcomes across a dynamic, multi-unit organization. As the Director of Information Technology & Systems, you will ensure the ICON tech stack drives business innovation, information security, and access to critical business data. 

You’ll oversee a broad portfolio spanning corporate IT, information systems, and information security across ICON’s Construction, Technology and Public Sector units. The ideal candidate brings deep corporate IT expertise alongside hands-on fluency in information security and infrastructure, and is comfortable operating in both commercial and government-regulated environments.

This role is a full-time, on-site position based at ICON’s Austin, TX HQ Campus and will report to the President.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and develop the Information Technology and Systems teams, setting operating principles and service level agreements.
  • Develop scalable strategies and roadmaps for AI and core digital infrastructure. 
  • Partner with business stakeholders to ensure ICON’s systems are pioneering and continuously solving emerging business problems.
  • Deliver data-driven insights and technology performance reporting to executive leadership on a regular basis.
  • Oversee all corporate IT functions, including end-user support, device management, SaaS platforms, identity and access management, and enterprise system integrations.
  • Lead vendor management, licensing, and technology procurement to maximize value and minimize risk.
  • Ensure data infrastructure supports cross-functional business intelligence needs and enables data-driven decision-making at all levels of the organization.
  • Oversee cloud and on-premises infrastructure, ensuring reliability, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Manage ICON’s information security posture, ensuring systems and data are protected against cyber threats.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant frameworks and standards, including those required for government contracting.
  • Demonstrate security and compliance credibility to public sector stakeholders, including government program partners.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of progressive experience leading technology or information organizations, with demonstrated experience in a senior leadership role.
  • 5+ years of experience leading technology teams in regulatory complex environments.
  • Proven track record managing corporate IT functions at scale, including enterprise systems, end-user computing, and IT operations.
  • Proven track record of evaluating new technologies and tools and leading business integration. 
  • Experience overseeing infrastructure teams, with working knowledge of data pipelines, cloud platforms, and modern infrastructure practices.
  • Proficiency with cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience supporting or working within a government contracting environment.
  • Highly analytical mindset with the ability to solve technical problems across storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and front-end frameworks.
  • Strong project and program management skills, including the ability to set priorities, manage multiple concurrent initiatives, and deliver on schedule.
  • Experience leading technical integrations and enterprise system implementations.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts and tradeoffs clearly to non-technical executives and business stakeholders.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving, innovative environment — experience in construction technology, advanced manufacturing, or deep tech is a plus.
