The State of Delaware's Department of Justice is seeking a Deputy Attorney General (DAG I–V) to join its White Collar Crime, Fraud, and Consumer Protection Division in Dover, Michigan — a full-time position for attorneys ready to apply their legal skills in meaningful public service.

About the Role

This position sits within one of Delaware's most active prosecutorial and civil enforcement units, addressing financial crimes, fraud schemes, and violations that harm Delaware consumers and businesses. The level of appointment (DAG I through V) is commensurate with the attorney's experience and qualifications.

What You'll Do

  • Investigate and prosecute white collar criminal matters, including fraud, financial crimes, and related offenses under Delaware law
  • Enforce consumer protection statutes on behalf of the State, including civil litigation and regulatory actions
  • Conduct grand jury proceedings, draft charging documents, and manage complex multi-party cases from investigation through resolution
  • Collaborate with state and federal law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies, and investigative units
  • Represent the State of Delaware in Superior Court, Court of Common Pleas, and other tribunals as assigned
  • Draft legal memoranda, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements with precision and clarity
  • Advise agency partners on legal matters related to fraud prevention and consumer protection enforcement

What We're Looking For

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the Delaware Bar, or eligibility to obtain Delaware Bar admission
  • Litigation or prosecutorial experience; prior white collar, fraud, or consumer protection work is a strong plus
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a substantial caseload independently while meeting court deadlines
  • Strong legal research and writing skills with attention to evidentiary and procedural detail
  • Sound judgment, professional integrity, and a commitment to the public interest
  • Effective communication skills for courtroom advocacy, agency coordination, and victim interaction
