Dell is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer, UDS Data Management – East to join our pre-sales Systems Engineering team across the United States (nationwide) (nationwide), where you'll shape cutting-edge data and AI solutions for our most strategic customers. About the Role
As a Senior Systems Engineer, UDS Data Management – East at Dell, you'll deliver proactive pre-sales technical support to our field sales organization throughout the United States (nationwide) (nationwide). Working hand-in-hand with sales professionals, you'll architect tailored Dell Technologies solutions that draw on our complete portfolio of products and services, ensuring customers receive innovative, interoperable results that solve real business challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate and lead trusted relationships across highly complex, strategic customer accounts
- Analyze customer needs and anticipate requirements that reach beyond the scope of existing solutions
- Develop detailed product specifications and deliver high-impact presentations on-site at customer locations
- Validate that sophisticated product and service configurations operate seamlessly within the customer's environment
- Lead advanced systems integration and apply technical expertise to design and deploy end-to-end solutions
- Build and run compelling demonstrations and proofs of concept with clear success criteria, timelines, and executive readouts
Qualifications
- 5+ years in a customer-facing technical role such as Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Data Engineer, Analytics Consultant, or Data Scientist with strong commercial exposure
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and a leading data platform such as Snowflake, Databricks, Cloudera, BigQuery, Redshift, or Synapse
- Solid grounding in data warehousing, data lakes/lakehouse, and ETL/ELT concepts, plus strong SQL for analytical queries, performance tuning, and dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schemas, partitioning, clustering)
- Familiarity with vector databases (Elasticsearch, Milvus, pgvector), embedding models, RAG architectures, document processing pipelines, chunking strategies, and semantic search
- Experience with orchestration tooling (Airflow, dbt, Spark, Kafka), batch versus streaming patterns, and data governance (catalog, lineage, RBAC, masking, GDPR/CCPA compliance)
- Working knowledge of BI platforms (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Qlik) and ML workflows using Python, notebooks, and frameworks such as scikit-learn, MLflow, TensorFlow/PyTorch, LangChain, or LlamaIndex
- Proven delivery in areas like cloud data warehouse/lakehouse migrations, BI modernization, GenAI and RAG implementations, real-time analytics, or data science enablement
- Strong consulting, storytelling, and competitive-positioning skills, with comfort presenting to senior stakeholders such as CIOs and Heads of Data
