The Opportunity
Ayden-Grifton High School in Pitt County Schools is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Custodian to join our team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to maintain a clean, safe, and organized learning environment for students and staff.
Core Duties
- Maintain cleanliness of school facilities including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning windows, floors, and furniture
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment for events and meetings
- Respond to facility emergencies and ensure safety protocols are followed
- Work closely with the School Principal and Head Custodian to address any issues or concerns
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required
- Previous custodial experience in a school setting is highly desirable
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely
- Good communication skills to work effectively with staff and students
- A valid driver's license may be required for transportation duties related to the job
