Highmark Health is hiring a part-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) based at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is a 30 hours-per-week opportunity with eligibility for quarterly bonuses.
About the Role
As a CRNA with Allegheny Health Network, you'll deliver direct anesthetic services to surgical patients in a hospital operating room environment. You'll manage the full spectrum of perioperative anesthetic care—from pre-operative patient evaluation through recovery—in collaboration with surgeons, physicians, and the broader surgical team. This role emphasizes clinical excellence, meticulous patient monitoring, and thorough medical documentation.
What You'll Do
- Perform comprehensive pre-operative assessments to evaluate patient medical history, current health status, and anesthetic risk factors
- Develop individualized anesthetic plans tailored to surgical procedures, patient comorbidities, and clinical requirements
- Administer induction, maintenance, and emergence anesthesia using appropriate agents and techniques
- Maintain continuous patient monitoring throughout surgery, including airway management, vital signs, and physiologic response to anesthesia
- Manage airways and airway devices to ensure adequate ventilation and oxygenation
- Provide accurate and timely anesthetic records and patient documentation
- Contribute to post-operative patient care and recovery monitoring
- Participate in quality improvement and departmental initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Current, unrestricted Pennsylvania CRNA licensure
- Active certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) or equivalent
- Valid professional liability insurance
- Demonstrated competency in perioperative anesthetic management
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in a collaborative surgical environment
- Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and ongoing professional development
