Join Calhoun Nursing & Rehab's culinary team in Hardin, Calhoun County as a full-time evening cook. You'll prepare nourishing, appetizing meals that make a real difference in our residents' daily lives, working with the Director of Dietary to maintain our commitment to quality nutrition and care.

About the Role

As our full-time evening cook, you'll manage dinner and evening meal preparation in a busy healthcare kitchen. Your work combines culinary technique with an understanding of residents' individual dietary needs. You'll ensure every meal meets both our quality standards and each resident's nutritional requirements, all while maintaining the efficiency and safety practices critical in a professional food-service environment.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and cook menu items following established recipes and established preparation standards
• Plate and serve meals at the correct temperature with attractive presentation
• Read daily menus and calculate proper quantities of food and ingredients needed for meal prep
• Accommodate residents' special diets and individual dietary restrictions
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, food safety standards, and proper storage practices
• Coordinate with the dietary team to support seamless meal service

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on cooking experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen
• Ability to follow recipes precisely and adapt to changing menus
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Comfort working evening shifts in a healthcare setting
• Attention to detail in food preparation and plating
