Continuous Improvement Engineer

Miss Jones Baking Co. is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to drive operational excellence and product quality at our Sandusky, Erie County facility. In this full-time role, you'll identify and implement process improvements that unlock efficiency and accelerate innovation in how we manufacture better-for-you baked goods.

As a Continuous Improvement Engineer at Miss Jones Baking Co., you'll move beyond the constraints of traditional food manufacturing operations to shape the next generation of our product line. Your analytical mindset and passion for operational excellence will directly influence how we optimize production, reduce waste, and scale innovation. Core Duties

• Conduct process analysis and data collection across production lines to identify efficiency gaps and improvement opportunities
• Develop, test, and implement solutions to enhance throughput, reduce costs, and strengthen product quality
• Lead kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives, working cross-functionally with production, quality, and maintenance teams
• Track key performance indicators and process metrics to quantify the impact of improvements
• Standardize procedures and best practices to sustain gains and support operator training
• Partner with equipment manufacturers and engineering resources to troubleshoot and optimize bakery-specific production systems

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• Hands-on experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with proficiency in data analysis and process mapping
• Clear communicator comfortable presenting findings and recommendations to all organizational levels
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Experience in food production, bakery operations, or regulated manufacturing environments is advantageous
