Vertex Pharmaceuticals is seeking a results-driven Commercial Supply Chain Manager, Small Molecule to join our team in Boston, Suffolk County, and help bring a late-stage small molecule program to market. This full-time, on-site position sits at the intersection of planning, operations, and cross-functional strategy as we scale our growing portfolio of innovative therapies.
About the Role
As a Commercial Supply Chain Manager at Vertex Pharmaceuticals in Boston, you will own day-to-day commercial supply chain execution for an advancing small molecule program. You will help build the planning foundations that move a promising therapy from late-stage development toward dependable commercial availability, ensuring patients can count on consistent access.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive monthly supply planning activities for a late-stage small molecule commercial program.
- Contribute actively to the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle, aligning supply with demand signals.
- Configure and maintain planning system setup to support accurate, scalable forecasting.
- Manage inventory levels to balance availability, cost, and risk across the supply network.
- Develop and refine Long Range Plans (LRP) that anticipate future commercial requirements.
- Partner cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, commercial, and external partners to keep the program on track.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in commercial supply chain, supply planning, or S&OP, ideally within pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of inventory management and planning systems in a regulated environment.
- Familiarity with small molecule supply operations and the transition from late-stage development to commercialization.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Boston, Suffolk County.
