About the Role
As a Coffee Shop Barista with Hy-Vee, you'll be the welcoming face behind the counter, crafting quality beverages and creating memorable moments for guests. This is a full-time, non-exempt position based in the US, and it does include night and weekend shifts. If you thrive in a fast-paced, people-focused environment and take pride in great service, this barista role is a perfect fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve espresso drinks, brewed coffee, and other specialty beverages to Hy-Vee's quality standards.
- Greet every customer with genuine friendliness and a helpful attitude.
- Take and fulfill orders accurately while keeping wait times short.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked coffee shop area.
- Handle transactions and operate the point-of-sale system with care.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and store procedures.
- Work cooperatively with team members across night and weekend shifts.
Qualifications
- Availability to work nights and weekends as scheduled.
- A positive, customer-first mindset and a genuine smile in every interaction.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to stay productive in a busy, hands-on coffee shop setting.
- Willingness to learn beverage preparation and service standards.
