Banquet Chef

Urban Outfitters, Inc. is hiring a full-time Banquet Chef in Wayland, Massachusetts to lead culinary operations for our event and catering programs. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll orchestrate every plate that leaves the kitchen, bringing technical precision and creative vision to events of all sizes.

About the Role

As our Banquet Chef, you'll oversee menu development, food preparation, and service execution for private events and catering clients. Working within our commitment to sourcing exceptional ingredients and maintaining rigorous culinary standards, you'll manage kitchen staff, coordinate with front-of-house teams, and ensure every event reflects our dedication to quality and attention to detail.

What You'll Do

• Design and execute catering menus that highlight seasonal, high-quality ingredients
• Lead and train kitchen staff during event preparation and service
• Oversee food production, plating, and quality control for all banquet operations
• Collaborate with event coordinators and clients to understand vision and deliver exceptional results
• Manage food costs, inventory, and vendor relationships
• Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards
• Adapt menus and operations based on client requests and dietary requirements

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a chef in fine dining, catering, or event hospitality environments
• Strong knowledge of food safety practices and ability to lead a kitchen operation
• Experience managing food production at volume without sacrificing quality
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Creative approach to menu development with respect for ingredient quality
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for events
• Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
