Core Duties

• Check and accurately document patient vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration rate, and blood pressure at regular intervals throughout the night shift.
• Help residents or patients complete activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and oral care while respecting privacy and preferences.
• Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, positioning, and turning to promote comfort and reduce risk of pressure injuries during overnight hours.
• Support mealtimes and feeding assistance as needed, monitoring intake and ensuring a clean, calm environment around the bedside.
• Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests, providing timely assistance and communicating observations to licensed nursing staff.
• Maintain neat patient rooms, change linens when required, empty waste, and follow established infection-prevention and safety protocols at all times.
• Collect and label specimens according to procedure when directed, and transport patients within the facility for tests or other needs as assigned via the staffing office.
• Note and report any shifts in patient condition, mood, or behavior to the supervising nurse so timely clinical decisions can follow.
