About the Role
As a commercial driver with Dollar General Fleet, you'll operate heavy-duty trucks on regional routes that keep our retail network stocked and growing. This full-time position offers predictable weekly schedules so you stay close to home while earning competitive pay. You'll work within the fast-paced retail logistics industry, supporting one of America's largest discount retailers.
What You'll Do
- Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle on assigned regional routes between distribution centers and Dollar General store locations
- Execute pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure equipment safety and compliance
- Secure and monitor cargo throughout transport, following all DOT and FMCSA regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery records, logbook entries, and vehicle documentation
- Communicate with dispatch to coordinate routes, address delays, and confirm on-time arrivals
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance and report mechanical issues immediately
- Drive defensively and consistently meet safety metrics and company standards
What We're Looking For
- Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record
- Current DOT medical certification
- Professional attitude and commitment to safety-first operations
- Ability to perform loading, unloading, and cargo-securing tasks
- Strong communication skills and reliability in meeting delivery schedules
- Experience in regional trucking or commercial driving (preferred)
