Business Development Manager

We're looking for a driven professional to expand our presence in the local government sector through strategic relationship-building, market opportunity identification, and direct sales execution.

About the Role

As Business Development Manager, you'll be responsible for establishing and nurturing relationships with municipal clients across the region. This is a hands-on position where you'll identify emerging opportunities in the municipal services market, qualify prospects, and shepherd opportunities from first conversation through contract completion. Your work will directly expand Aoka's footprint among city and county governments throughout Bexar County and beyond.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain strategic relationships with municipal decision-makers and procurement teams
• Conduct market research to identify new municipalities, government agencies, and service opportunities
• Lead the sales cycle from initial outreach through proposal presentation and contract negotiation
• Develop tailored solutions that address municipal clients' specific needs and priorities
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless client onboarding and service delivery
• Track pipeline activity, forecast revenue, and report on business development metrics

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally in municipal services, government contracting, or B2B enterprise sales
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships and close deals in a consultative sales environment
• Understanding of how municipal governments operate and procure services
• Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex solutions clearly
• Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skills
• Willingness to travel occasionally to meet clients across the San Antonio area and Bexar County
