What This Role Involves

A Barnes & Noble bookstore is a gathering place for readers and the community. As a Bookseller, you are an integral member of the bookselling team at the heart of our stores. You welcome customers in a cheerful and helpful way, assist with sales, and help create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages reading and discovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and engage customers to foster a positive shopping experience
• Sell books, magazines, and other merchandise
• Assist with store layout and merchandising to optimize sales opportunities
• Help customers find the perfect book or gift item
• Process transactions accurately and efficiently
• Participate in community events and promotions as needed

Skills & Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong communication abilities
• Basic knowledge of books, authors, and genres
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
