About This Position
We're seeking a dedicated Board Operator to join our on-site programming team in Bingham Farms. In this part-time role, you'll operate state-of-the-art broadcast audio equipment, manage live and recorded content, and ensure every show delivers professional quality audio to our listeners. Reporting to the Brand Manager, you'll be an essential part of our broadcast operations, working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where precision and reliability matter every single day.
What You'll Do
- Operate broadcast audio consoles and mixing equipment during live programming and recorded sessions
- Monitor audio levels, signal quality, and technical performance throughout your shift
- Execute show rundowns, manage microphone inputs, and coordinate audio routing with on-air talent
- Record, edit, and prepare audio content for broadcast and digital distribution
- Troubleshoot technical issues and maintain broadcast equipment in working order
- Ensure compliance with FCC regulations and station operational standards
- Coordinate with programming staff to support seamless station operations
Who We're Looking For
- Proven experience operating broadcast audio boards or similar live audio equipment
- Strong technical knowledge of audio systems, broadcasting standards, and studio equipment
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently under pressure
- Reliable and punctual; comfortable with shift work and on-site presence
- Communication skills to collaborate effectively with on-air talent and production staff
- FCC license or broadcast certification preferred
