Baker School District 5J is hiring three full-time Wrestling Coaches for Baker Middle School (BMS), a high-needs school committed to comprehensive athletic development. These positions are available starting January 4, 2027, for coaches ready to develop young wrestlers and lead an engaged wrestling program.
About the Role
As a BMS Wrestling Coach, you'll direct all aspects of Baker Middle School's wrestling program. These full-time coaching positions focus on building a competitive, well-organized wrestling team while fostering athlete development, sportsmanship, and achievement.
What You'll Do
- Plan and conduct wrestling practice sessions, drills, and skill development activities
- Teach proper wrestling techniques, safety protocols, and competitive strategy
- Coach wrestlers at matches and tournaments throughout the season
- Evaluate athlete performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement
- Maintain equipment and facilities in compliance with district standards
- Track attendance and manage roster documentation
- Communicate with parents and administration about program goals and athlete progress
- Support the athletic department's standards for eligibility, conduct, and compliance
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated coaching experience in wrestling or a closely related sport
- Strong knowledge of wrestling techniques, rules, and competition standards
- Proven ability to organize practices, manage teams, and motivate young athletes
- Excellent communication skills and commitment to athlete safety and development
- Experience working with middle school–aged students preferred
- Valid background clearance and willingness to comply with district safety policies
