QC Scientist I

About the Role

As a QC Scientist I at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll play a critical role in our quality assurance operations. Working in our Florence laboratory facility, you'll conduct analytical testing, evaluate product specifications, and document results with precision and attention to detail. Your work directly impacts the safety and efficacy of products that serve customers worldwide.

What You'll Do

• Perform analytical testing and quality control analysis on materials and products
• Execute standard operating procedures and maintain comprehensive laboratory records
• Analyze test results and prepare accurate documentation for regulatory compliance
• Identify and troubleshoot quality issues, escalating findings as needed
• Maintain adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety protocols
• Collaborate with team members to support continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment safely and effectively

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline
• Strong knowledge of analytical testing methods and quality assurance principles
• Demonstrated understanding of GMP requirements and regulatory standards
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and follow established laboratory protocols
• Comfort working in a laboratory environment with exposure to chemicals and biological materials
• Willingness to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

Work Environment

This position is based in our Florence, South Carolina laboratory facility. You'll work in a professional laboratory setting with adherence to strict safety and GMP standards. The role requires standard personal protective equipment including safety glasses, lab coat, gloves, gowning, and ear protection as needed. You may be exposed to various chemicals, biological materials, and other laboratory substances with distinctive odors. This is a full-time, on-site role with a standard work schedule.
