About the Role

Bedford Public Schools is seeking hourly substitutes to fill instructional gaps across our district in Temperance and Monroe County. In this part-time role, you'll step in to teach and mentor students when regular staff members are unavailable, delivering core instruction and maintaining continuity in the classroom. Your work is essential to keeping our schools running smoothly while students receive quality educational experiences.

What You'll Do

• Teach lessons and guide classroom activities according to teacher-prepared lesson plans
• Maintain classroom discipline and foster a positive, focused learning environment
• Supervise and support students in hallways, common areas, and during transitions
• Track student engagement and share relevant observations with permanent educators
• Uphold school safety protocols and district policies
• Build rapport with students and model professional classroom conduct

What We're Looking For

• Active interest in supporting student learning and classroom instruction
• Experience or background working with K-12 students
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and instructional approaches
• Professional demeanor and strong reliability
• Willingness to complete required fingerprinting and background screening
