About the Role

As an Assistant Teacher in Anacortes, you'll partner with lead teachers to create a warm, nurturing, and developmentally rich early-learning environment. From finger paint and building blocks to the steady stream of "why" questions, you'll see every moment as a chance to help a child grow more capable and self-assured. This is a full-time position based on-site at the Anacortes Family Center.

Key Responsibilities

• Support lead teachers in planning and delivering age-appropriate activities for preschool-aged children
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom where every child feels valued
• Guide children through play-based learning that builds social, emotional, and early academic skills
• Help maintain consistent daily routines, supervision, and classroom organization
• Build positive, communicative relationships with children and their families

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting early childhood development
• Patience, warmth, and strong communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a teaching team
• Reliability and a commitment to creating a positive learning space
