About the Role

As Assistant Store Manager, you'll partner with our Store Manager to oversee daily operations at our Madison location. Your responsibilities include managing store inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock placement, and maintaining a clean, organized retail environment that reflects Autozone's standards of excellence. You'll lead customer-facing interactions, recommend automotive solutions, and mentor team members to consistently exceed customer expectations.

What You'll Do

• Support the Store Manager in achieving sales targets and operational goals
• Manage inventory accuracy, ordering, and stock rotation across automotive parts and accessories
• Train and develop team members to provide expert customer service and product recommendations
• Assist customers in identifying the correct parts and solutions for their vehicles and automotive projects
• Maintain store cleanliness, product displays, and visual merchandising standards
• Handle cash management, process transactions, and ensure compliance with company policies
• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues to maintain satisfaction and loyalty

What We're Looking For

• 1–2 years of retail, automotive, or customer service experience (or equivalent management background)
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead and motivate a team
• Familiarity with automotive parts, tools, or vehicles (or willingness to develop expertise)
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment
• Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and inventory management tools
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and organize parts and inventory throughout the day
• Reliable transportation and availability for full-time retail hours
