STV is hiring an Assistant Project Manager to join our Chicago-based Project and Construction Management division. In this full-time role, you'll support owners in guiding capital improvement programs toward zero-emissions goals, overseeing facility upgrades, renovations, and new construction initiatives across the Chicago and Cook County region.
About the Role
As an Assistant Project Manager in our Owners Representative practice, you'll work alongside experienced team leads to manage complex capital programs for institutional and commercial clients. Your focus will be helping property owners realize their sustainability vision while delivering projects on time and within budget. You'll coordinate between design teams, contractors, and stakeholders, tracking progress, managing documentation, and ensuring alignment with zero-emissions objectives throughout each phase of delivery.
What You'll Do
- Support owners in planning, budgeting, and oversight of capital programs and facility renovations
- Track project schedules, budgets, and performance against sustainability and operational targets
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, general contractors, and consultants throughout design and construction
- Maintain project documentation, submittals, and correspondence
- Attend site meetings, monitor progress, and report status to ownership teams
- Support Value Engineering and constructability reviews with an eye toward zero-emissions compliance
- Assist in identifying and managing risks to timeline, budget, and project goals
What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting ownership teams or capital project management on building upgrades, renovations, or facility improvements
- Familiarity with project management processes, schedules, and contract administration
- Strong organizational and communication skills—you thrive coordinating across multiple parties
- Interest in sustainability, green building, or zero-emissions initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project tracking software
