Assistant Manager

We're hiring an Assistant Manager for our Panera location in Sunset Whitney Ranch, Placer County. This is a full-time opportunity to help lead our team and deliver the café experience our guests expect.

About the Role

As Assistant Manager at Panera, Flynn Group, you'll play a central part in the daily success of our café. You'll work closely with the store Manager to oversee operations, lead our team, and maintain the high service standards that define Panera. This is hands-on work—you'll be present on the floor, supporting staff and solving problems as they arise, while also building the systems that keep the location running smoothly.

What You'll Do

• Supervise and mentor team members; manage scheduling, training, and performance to build a strong crew
• Oversee daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory
• Ensure food preparation meets quality standards and health and safety regulations
• Maintain excellent customer service by addressing guest concerns and coaching the team to do the same
• Support sales initiatives, promotions, and café goals set by management
• Assist with staffing needs, labor optimization, and guest experience metrics

What We're Looking For

• Prior experience managing or supervising in a restaurant, café, or retail environment
• Strong leadership presence and ability to motivate and develop team members
• Customer service excellence and a problem-solving mindset
• Comfort with point-of-sale systems, basic math, and cash handling
• Food service knowledge or willingness to obtain ServSafe or equivalent certification
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed
• Clear communication skills and accountability
