About the Role
As an Assistant Account Manager, Employee Benefits with HUB International, you'll support the delivery of tailored group health, retirement, and welfare benefit solutions to mid-market and large employers throughout the Anchorage region. This full-time position offers hands-on experience in client relationship management, benefits administration, and consultative sales within a collaborative, fast-paced brokerage environment. You'll work alongside experienced account managers to strengthen client partnerships and ensure seamless plan implementation and ongoing support.
What You'll Do
- Assist in managing a portfolio of employee benefits clients, handling routine administrative and service requests
- Coordinate benefits enrollment, renewals, and plan design discussions under the guidance of senior account managers
- Prepare client presentations, proposals, and benefit communication materials
- Track and maintain client databases, policy documents, and compliance records
- Support benefits education and training sessions for client employees
- Respond to client inquiries regarding plan features, coverage, and claims processes
- Contribute to account growth through proactive client retention and cross-selling initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of relevant experience in benefits administration, insurance, or related field
- Strong customer service and communication skills with ability to explain complex benefits clearly
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn industry-specific software systems
- Knowledge of group health insurance, retirement plans, and employee benefits fundamentals (or willingness to develop this knowledge)
- Professional demeanor and commitment to building lasting client relationships
- Valid driver's license; willingness to travel locally as needed
