As an Admissions Specialist at St. Luke's, you'll work at the intersection of patient care and administrative excellence. You're responsible for collecting accurate patient information, explaining financial obligations, and preparing documentation that enables our clinical teams to focus on what they do best—providing excellent care. Your attention to detail and communication skills directly impact patient satisfaction and operational efficiency across our health system.

What You'll Do

• Greet patients and families with professionalism, answering questions about check-in procedures and insurance requirements
• Complete patient registration forms accurately, verifying identity and collecting necessary demographic and insurance information
• Contact insurance companies to confirm coverage, eligibility, and pre-authorization requirements before or after patient visits
• Enter patient data into electronic health record (EHR) systems while maintaining strict HIPAA confidentiality standards
• Explain patient responsibility amounts and payment options, collecting copayments and deductibles as applicable
• Coordinate with clinical staff regarding missing information or documentation needed before patient treatment
• Resolve patient billing inquiries and escalate complex issues to appropriate departments
• Maintain composure in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple patient check-ins during peak hours

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED; some healthcare or customer service experience preferred
• Proficiency with computer systems, electronic health records, and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills—written and verbal—with the ability to explain complex insurance concepts clearly
• Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail when managing patient records and financial information
• Ability to work in a healthcare setting with compassion, discretion, and respect for patient privacy
• Professional demeanor, even during high-volume periods or difficult patient interactions
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and systems
