What This Role Involves
The Senior Heritage Advisor will play a pivotal role in preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Murujuga. Responsibilities include conducting site assessments, managing conservation projects, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Core Duties
- Conduct comprehensive site assessments to identify and document cultural artifacts and sites.
- Develop and implement heritage management plans in collaboration with Traditional Owners and other stakeholders.
- Liaise with government agencies, conservation organizations, and community groups to ensure the protection of cultural resources.
- Prepare reports and documentation for various projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
Requirements
- A degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in heritage management or a similar role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cultural heritage legislation and policies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with Traditional Owners and other stakeholders.
- Affinity for Indigenous culture and commitment to preserving it.
