The Opportunity

We are seeking an Assistant Warden to join our dedicated team at RSPB. This role involves caring for a unique network of heathland reserves in and around Farnham, Surrey, UK, UK. You will play a crucial part in the restoration and recovery of these vital habitats, supporting the incredible species that call them home.

Core Duties

• Assist with the management and maintenance of heathland reserves to ensure their ecological health and biodiversity.
• Participate in habitat restoration projects, including planting and removing invasive species.
• Support visitor engagement activities, providing information about local wildlife and conservation efforts.
• Contribute to data collection and monitoring programs to assess the impact of management actions on flora and fauna.

Qualifications

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a genuine passion for wildlife and habitats. A relevant degree in ecology, conservation, or a related field is desirable but not essential. Practical experience working outdoors in similar roles would be beneficial.
