About This Position
In this inaugural Analytics Engineer post with Thebulwark you will stand up the technical infrastructure needed for reliable measurement and insight across operations. Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and continuously improve end-to-end data pipelines that collect, clean, and load information from diverse internal and external sources into a modern warehouse
- Create and maintain reusable dimensional models, metrics layers, and transformation code so self-serve analysis becomes straightforward for non-engineers
- Partner with product, marketing, editorial, and finance colleagues to translate business questions into well-defined datasets and visualizations that illuminate revenue and engagement patterns
- Establish automated quality checks, lineage tracking, and monitoring so data consumers can trust the numbers they use daily
- Document architecture, pipelines, and modeling decisions clearly and train stakeholders on how to query and interpret the resulting assets
- Iterate on storage, orchestration, and access patterns as new products and campaigns increase data volume and complexity
Requirements
- Hands-on background as an Analytics Engineer or related data role that delivered production-grade analytics infrastructure
- Expert-level SQL paired with experience building modular transformations and testing suites
- Practical familiarity with contemporary warehouse platforms, ELT patterns, and orchestration frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with cross-functional partners and convert brand, content, or revenue objectives into technical deliverables
- Strong emphasis on maintainable code, version control, and performance optimization
- Clear written and verbal communication skills that make complex data topics accessible
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent professional experience

It equips readers, listeners, and viewers to interpret shifting circumstances through rigorous examination, original viewpoints, and strong journalism. More than one million people have joined this effort, forming an active network that regularly consumes newsletters, podcasts, video programs, live gatherings, and membership activities.
