Regulatory Adviser

Solicitors Regulation Authority is recruiting a Regulatory Adviser based in Birmingham, West Midlands. This full-time permanent role sits within the Authorisation team and forms an integral part of the Technical Team, offering candidates the chance to influence regulatory practice at a national level.

Position Summary

Known internally as Technical Adviser, the Regulatory Adviser post is a permanent full-time appointment involving 35 hours per week and carrying a salary of £43,982.87. Based in Birmingham, West Midlands, the position concentrates on regulation-related duties and supports the wider Authorisation function of Solicitors Regulation Authority while contributing to the ongoing development of legal regulation standards.

What You'll Do

• Supply clear technical guidance on authorisation questions and associated regulatory issues
• Work alongside Technical Team colleagues to review and improve operational processes
• Help refine methods and policies that determine how legal regulation develops over time
• Manage detailed case materials and respond to complex regulatory enquiries within the Authorisation team
• Take part in initiatives that strengthen overall regulatory consistency and effectiveness

• Solid grasp of regulatory frameworks that apply to legal practice
• Experience delivering technical advice in a Compliance, legal or regulatory setting
