Role Overview

This full-time Licensed Practical Charge Nurse position based in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio places you at the center of evening and overnight care coordination. As the charge nurse on night shift, you guide a skilled nursing team, maintain safety standards, and ensure residents receive attentive licensed practical nursing support throughout the late hours when continuity of care matters most. The role balances hands-on clinical work with leadership of daily unit activities in a collaborative workplace.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate night-shift nursing activities, assigning tasks and supporting licensed practical nurse and aide staff on the unit
• Perform comprehensive resident assessments, monitor vital signs, and report changes in condition promptly to physicians or the on-call team
• Administer medications, treatments, and wound care according to established plans while documenting all interventions accurately
• Supervise service delivery to maintain infection control, safety protocols, and a calm overnight environment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary colleagues to update care plans and prepare thorough shift handoffs for the day team
• Respond to urgent resident needs and emergencies with sound clinical judgment during the night shift

What We're Looking For

• Current, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse license valid in Ohio
• Proven experience as a charge nurse or senior licensed practical nurse, ideally including night-shift exposure
• Strong leadership skills for guiding a team, plus solid clinical competence in assessments, medication administration, and documentation
• Ability to work full-time night-shift hours reliably while prioritizing resident safety and comfort in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio
• Excellent communication and critical-thinking abilities suited to independent decision-making after hours
• Commitment to compassionate, resident-centered care consistent with professional nursing standards
