Football JV/10th Assistant Coach

Lakeville Area Schools is hiring a Football JV/10th Assistant Coach at Lakeville South High School, where you'll mentor young athletes and contribute to a competitive, supportive football program.

Position Summary

This full-time Football JV/10th Assistant Coach position is part of Lakeville Area Schools' Activities Department at Lakeville South High School. Reporting to the Head Coach and Activities Director, you'll play a vital role in developing junior varsity and 10th-grade football players. Your coaching will emphasize skill development, game strategy, and student-athlete growth in a program dedicated to competitive excellence and character building.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Conduct on-field coaching, drills, and position-specific instruction
• Assess player performance and deliver actionable coaching guidance
• Prepare for games through strategy sessions and opponent film review
• Lead practice sessions focused on skill development and conditioning
• Work collaboratively with head coach and assistant coaching staff
• Model and reinforce teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship with student-athletes
• Maintain equipment and field readiness
• Participate in team meetings and athletic department activities

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred
• Demonstrated experience coaching or playing football at the high school level or higher
• Strong understanding of football fundamentals, techniques, and game strategy
• Knowledge of player safety protocols and liability standards in youth sports
• Excellent communication and coaching interpersonal abilities
• Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes, staff, and administration
• Valid driver's license and compliance with Minnesota school district background screening requirements
• Dedication to supporting student-athlete academic and athletic development
