About This Position
We're looking for a skilled Licensed Blaster to lead explosive operations on construction projects throughout our service region. This full-time role places you at the center of critical demolition, excavation, and site prep work. Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain specialized blasting equipment and detonation systems
- Review engineered blast plans and site specifications to determine charge placement
- Prepare blast holes and set explosive charges per design requirements
- Conduct pre-detonation safety inspections and verify site clearance
- Execute blasts and monitor safety zones during and after detonation
- Document all blast activities, weather conditions, and site observations
- Communicate with project teams, safety coordinators, and construction supervisors
- Maintain full compliance with federal, state, and local blasting regulations
Qualifications
- Active Blaster's License required (or ability to obtain certification)
- Proven experience in blasting operations and explosives handling
- Deep knowledge of blasting safety codes and best practices
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Physical fitness for outdoor construction site work
- Strong attention to detail and precise documentation skills
- Excellent safety record and commitment to risk prevention
- Valid driver's license
