Neal R Gross & Co is a Washington, D.C.–based court reporting and transcription firm seeking a full-time Legal Transcriber with Federal Government Security Clearance. With over 45 years of experience serving government and private clients, we need transcribers who can deliver accurate, verbatim records of high-stakes legal proceedings.
Position Summary
As a Legal Transcriber with Government Clearance, you'll produce accurate written records of court trials, administrative hearings, and other legal proceedings for government and private clients. This is a full-time, on-site position in Washington, D.C. requiring an active Federal Government Security Clearance.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Transcribe audio recordings from trials and administrative proceedings with absolute accuracy
- Format transcripts according to legal and court standards
- Review and edit transcribed material for completeness and precision
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive legal proceedings
- Collaborate with court reporters and legal teams to resolve questions or clarify complex terminology
What We're Looking For
- Active Federal Government Security Clearance (required)
- Proven experience as a legal transcriber or court reporter
- Strong command of grammar, legal terminology, and punctuation
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in sensitive legal documents
- Familiarity with transcription software and industry standards
