Dudek is hiring a Senior Electrical & Controls System Engineer for our California office. This full-time position focuses on designing and optimizing electrical and control systems for water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the country.
The Opportunity

In this role, you'll apply your expertise in electrical and controls systems to advance critical water and wastewater projects that serve communities nationwide. You'll work with experienced multidisciplinary teams on complex technical challenges, contributing your knowledge to every phase from initial design through implementation.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems and control solutions for water treatment facilities, wastewater systems, and related infrastructure
- Develop and specify industrial control architectures, including PLC programming, SCADA systems, and instrumentation strategies
- Conduct system analysis and modeling to optimize electrical performance and reliability
- Collaborate with civil, mechanical, and process engineers to integrate electrical designs into comprehensive project solutions
- Create technical specifications, design documentation, and engineering reports
- Work directly with clients during design, permitting, and construction phases, providing technical guidance and best practice recommendations
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in electrical design and controls systems, ideally within water, wastewater, or utilities sectors
- Demonstrated expertise with industrial control platforms (PLC, SCADA, HMI programming)
- Proficiency with electrical design software and CAD tools
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NFPA)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one in California
- Strong technical communication and team collaboration skills
