The Federal Bureau of Investigation seeks an experienced Special Agent with military or law enforcement expertise and a security clearance for a full-time position in Fulton County. This exempt, permanent role offers the chance to apply your specialized background in federal investigative work protecting national security and the American public.
The Opportunity
Designated as exempt from the federal civilian hiring freeze, this Special Agent position represents a meaningful opportunity for military veterans or accomplished law enforcement professionals ready to serve in federal investigation. You'll work at the GL-09/GL-10 level, with the role's Full Performance Level set at GS-13, in a demanding environment requiring a minimum of 50 hours per week of engagement. This is a permanent, full-time position where your expertise directly impacts critical federal operations and national security priorities.
Your Responsibilities
- Conduct investigations into federal crimes and national security threats
- Gather, analyze, and assess intelligence supporting FBI operations and counterintelligence programs
- Execute search warrants, surveillance operations, and other investigative activities under federal authority
- Prepare comprehensive case files, reports, and investigative documentation
- Collaborate with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners on complex investigations
- Leverage military or law enforcement background to inform investigative strategy and execution
- Provide testimony before grand juries and in federal court proceedings as needed
Skills & Qualifications
- Active military service record or professional law enforcement background
- Eligible for or currently holding a Top Secret security clearance (or higher)
- U.S. citizenship (this position is open to all eligible U.S. citizens)
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass comprehensive background investigation
- Proven leadership, sound judgment, and decision-making under pressure
- Physical and mental capability to meet investigative fieldwork demands
- Willingness to relocate to assigned field office locations if required
- Ability to work effectively in team environments and with partner agencies
