Middle School Science Teacher (2026-2027 School Year)

Join Pulaski County Special School District as a Middle School Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time position is based in North Little Rock, Arkansas, and offers the opportunity to shape young learners' understanding of science through engaging, standards-aligned instruction.

What This Role Involves

As a middle school science educator in North Little Rock, you'll take the lead in designing and delivering comprehensive science instruction that meets the needs of each student in your classroom. You'll work directly under the supervision of your building principal to implement our district's science curriculum while fostering inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and scientific exploration. This role combines direct instruction, hands-on laboratory activities, and assessment to help students develop strong science foundations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Assess each student's current achievement level in science and track individual progress throughout the year
• Develop detailed lesson plans and prescriptive learning activities tailored to student needs and district standards
• Deliver engaging science instruction across core content areas at the middle school level
• Manage classroom behavior and create an inclusive, respectful learning environment
• Administer formative and summative assessments to measure student understanding
• Communicate regularly with families about student progress and learning goals
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and share instructional best practices
• Utilize educational technology and laboratory equipment to enhance science learning

What We're Looking For

• Valid Arkansas teaching certificate with a 4-8 science endorsement, OR a K-6 license, OR ability to pursue a provisional license in science
• Strong knowledge of middle school science content and standards
• Commitment to differentiated instruction and student-centered learning
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a school community
• Enthusiasm for fostering curiosity and scientific thinking in young people
