The ideal candidate has real-world production Rails experience and the confidence to own complex, high-stakes features from architecture through deployment. You take pride in writing clean, maintainable code. You use AI tools actively — in your coding workflow, debugging, and design — not because you have to, but because you understand how it makes you faster and sharper. You don’t need a fancy degree or big tech pedigree, but you do need to be a strong engineer, a good communicator, and someone who takes ownership seriously.
Basic requirements:
- You’ll be expected to complete a Rails coding challenge as part of the interview process (everyone on the Decile Group team has done well on it).
- You must live and work within a few time zones of Pacific (California) time. We are on Zoom and Slack a lot.
- You must be able to take ownership of a complex feature and drive it to completion with minimal hand-holding.
- You should be actively using AI coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, Claude, etc.) as part of your daily workflow.
