The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is hiring a full-time Automotive Technician in Lexington, South Carolina to service customers and vehicles at one of our auto service centers. This is a hands-on role where skilled technicians diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform repairs and maintenance, and deliver reliable service to vehicle owners across the region.
About the Role
As an Automotive Technician with Goodyear in Lexington, you'll work on a flat-rate compensation structure with a 75% hour guarantee, providing stability while you build your income based on completed jobs. You'll be part of a service team committed to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction in a professional shop environment.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose vehicle mechanical, electrical, and drivetrain problems using diagnostic equipment and test procedures
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups, and tire services
- Execute repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and other systems
- Interpret technical service bulletins and manufacturer specifications to ensure accuracy
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to customers and service advisors
- Maintain a clean, safe workspace and follow all safety and compliance standards
- Document work orders and track completed repairs for quality assurance
What We're Looking For
- Certification from ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) or equivalent automotive training
- Proven experience as an automotive technician or in a related service role
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostic procedures, and repair techniques
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, and comfort using diagnostic equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and work orders
- Reliable attendance and a commitment to professional, customer-focused service
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
