Join the Santangelo laboratory in the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Emory University as an Assistant Academic Research Scientist. This is a full-time, on-site position in Atlanta, Georgia, where you'll contribute to cutting-edge research in one of the nation's premier academic medical centers.
About the Role
As an Assistant Academic Research Scientist in this research-intensive biomedical engineering environment, you will support the development and execution of laboratory research initiatives. You'll work within a dynamic academic research program focused on advancing innovation in medical science and engineering applications.
What You'll Do
- Conduct experimental research and contribute to data collection, analysis, and interpretation
- Assist in designing and implementing laboratory protocols and procedures
- Maintain detailed laboratory records, documentation, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with faculty, graduate students, and interdisciplinary research teams
- Support manuscript preparation and presentation of research findings
- Contribute to grant preparation and research proposal development
- Troubleshoot technical issues and optimize experimental methodologies
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, biology, chemistry, or a related physical or life science discipline
- Strong foundation in research principles, experimental design, and scientific methodology
