Accounting Manager/Supervisor

About the Role

This accounting management position combines strategic oversight with direct involvement in day-to-day financial operations. You'll report to executive leadership, serve as a trusted advisor on accounting matters, and ensure the organization's financial records and processes run smoothly and remain compliant. What You'll Do

• Direct and coordinate daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff; delegate tasks effectively and provide coaching to strengthen team performance
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, reconciliations, and reports for accuracy and completeness
• Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets
• Manage month-end and year-end close cycles, ensuring timely completion and compliance with deadlines
• Partner with executive leadership on financial planning, budgeting, and analysis to support business decisions
• Oversee tax preparation and regulatory compliance matters in coordination with external advisors
• Implement process improvements and leverage accounting software to increase efficiency and reduce errors

What We're Looking For

• Proven accounting management or supervisory experience, ideally in a smaller business or family-owned company environment
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel; ERP system experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members with clear communication and accountability expectations
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail; ability to identify issues and implement solutions
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred; CPA a plus, but not required
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines
• Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and organizational skills
